These were good no complaints!
I didn't have any apples but the flavoring of this sounded so good I thought why not do it without the apples. They are delicious! I shook half in sugar and half in powdered sugar. I had to keep adding more flour to the batter because I didn't pack it down when I first measured it but they fried up nice and fluffy. They didn't turn out to be holes, they are very large. I got 22 of them
Just made these and they were amazing!!!
These are wonderful. A local restaurant makes these and I just love them. Now I can make them at home! I made them exactly as written; I added the orange juice. I think it gives them a nice flavor without actually tasting the orange flavor. They are definitely best serve warm with lots of powdered sugar. Thanks for sharing!
Amazing fritters!! I used all milk instead of the orange juice. I also rolled some in cinnamon sugar as well as the powdered sugar. I don't know which one we liked better. I just fried them up in my frying pan as I didn't want to get my fryer out and they did great! :) I used Self-Rising Flour for the flour. Thanks, Annacia!
Used to have something similar when I was growing up in Montana, & these brought back nice memories! I don't know if OJ was used then, but I like the idea & added just a bit of orange zest as well. Cooled down, I used the fritters as finger food for a group, & left out a shaker of powdered sugar in case someone wanted to shake a little on theirs! Many thanks for the recipe!
