I started making this recipe shortly after it was published in Diane Mott Davidson's book in 2005. I have made it numerous times for soccer teams and office groups. It is fabulous and is now the only chocolate brownie recipe I make. Do NOT scrimp on ingredients. Use butter, not margarine. Use best quality chocolate. It really makes a difference.

THANK YOU! I was searching for this exact recipe from the book. ;) Have also found some Zaar recipes almost exactly like the ones in the books. Save having to type them in. Thanks again!

Very good!! Very easy to make but I would have liked them to be a bit denser and fudgier. Having never made brownies before, I'm not sure if it was something I did. I'll make them again and let you know if they're any different.
