We enjoyed this. I did let the fish marinade longer. I prepared it in the morning and the fish marinaded until supper. While we enjoyed it we will probably lessen the amount of or omit the cloves as that flavor seemed a little overpowering.

This was pretty good! My husband and I both enjoyed it. Something different and very tasty. I forgot to reserve 1/2 the marinade, which would have been good spooned over the fish and the white rice I served with it. Will not forget next time!

Pretty good! I do think it's a bit heavy on the garlic powder though and may use fresh garlic next time. I thought the amount of cloves was fine, though I noticed the directions leave out the cloves (I'm assuming they get put in with the other spices). I will probably make this again!

Exccellent sauce, I could eat the sauce by itself..it's tasty on white rice, too! I agree, also, Cousin Christie, that it would be so worth it to marinate the tilapia a lot longer than 20 mins. I marinated mine for almost 40mins, although I had meant to follow the stated time, it ended up marinating a bit longer. I used only 2 fillets, but kept sauce ingred amts the same. The sauce smelled so good while cooking. I accidentally misread the directions and so heated up all the sauce ingreds instead of waiting... oh well no biggie. I did add a bit of pepper in after the sauce was hot though. Very different flavor, very nice flavor, very glad I tried this. Beautiful combination of flavors. Zingy, a tad sweet, and a bit warm-spicy. I could taste every ingredient, complemented the tilapia really well. My bf enjoyed this too, but he's a less descriptive, he simply says 'it's pretty good'. Served this with sliced coked carrots and white rice. Might have to try this with chicken breasts..make lots more sauce too. :) Thank you for this different sauce/recipe! :) After I'd already written and submitted my original review, my bf told me he thought that the sauce was a bit strong on the ground cloves, said his tongue went numb a couple times. Heh, it was a bit strong, but didn't stop either of us from eating it. :) I'll lessen the ground cloves next time.

This was okay. We just didn't think it was anything fanastic. It just seemed to be lacking something in the sauce, and I can't think what it could be. Maybe I'll try fresh garlic the next time.

Absolutely delicious! The soy sauce/brown sugar with lemon and ginger/garlic makes for a great sauce!
