This is an OLD favorite. I have the same recipe in a cookbook from 1947.

  1. Cream butter, add sugar gradually and continue beating.
  2. Add eggs, one at a time, beating thoroughly after each addition.
  3. Add orange juice, raisins, candied fruit, coconut and nuts.
  4. Fold in sifted dry ingredients.
  5. Turn into greased, double wax paper lined loaf pan and bake at 275°F for 2-1/2 to 3 hours.
  6. Cool in pan for 10 minutes.
  7. Turn out and cool completely on rack.
  8. Wrap in plastic wrap; store for 3-5 weeks before serving.
