Glazed Chorizo With Dates

Glazed chorizo and dates on small bamboo skewers served as appetizers.

  1. Cut chorizo sausage links in 3/4 inch pieces.
  2. Heat up a skillet on medium-high heat. Sautee the chorizo until it renders fat, 4 to 5 minutes.
  3. Add dates and orange zest to the chorizo. Cook for another minute.
  4. Add the maple syrup and continue cooking while stirring the ingredients until the chorizo and dates are glazed, about one minute.
  5. Skewer together one date and two pieces of chorizo.
  6. Serve on a presentation plate.
