This is such a pretty side dish,lovely with any barbacued meats

  1. Scrape and quarter beetroot.
  2. Melt butter in a saucepan and sauté onions and shallots until transparent.
  3. Add beetroot and simmer for 5 minutes, adding a little water if necessary.
  4. Combine honey, flour and vinegar and add to saucepan.
  5. Sprinkle with salt and marjoram, cover and simmer for 20 minutes.
  6. Cool before serving.
