My mother used to make this when I was little and served it with sliced bananas, a sprinkle of powdered sugar and a dollop of Cool Whip. OOHHHH SO GOOD!

I work for a childcare and I used this recipe as a cooking project for a bunch of two year olds! The Gingerbread was GREAT tasted like a big soft cookie! I put ours in loaf pans and it worked just great. Cooking with molasses and 11 kids is a whole other story!!haha

  1. Mix ingredients in order listed, dissolving soda in boiling water.
  2. Bake in an 9 x 13 glass pan, which has been greased and floured at 350° for 40 minutes.
