  1. preheat the waffle iron according to the manufacturer's directions.
  2. sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and spices in a large mixing bowl.
  3. in a med-sized bowl, mix together the juice, soy milk, applesauce, oil, sugar, and vanilla until well combined.
  4. create a well in the center of the flour mixture and slowly blend the wet ingredients into the dry until combined.
  5. fold in the grated pear.
  6. make your waffles according to the directions on the iron.

Love this recipe! I ran out of white flour, so I used 1 cup white and 1 cup whole wheat. In addition, I didn't have soy milk on-hand, so I just used 1 cup of 1% milk. This was so yummy and my 1 and 3 year old boys also loved it!
