These cookies go really fast. I always have to double the batch. If you like to use cut outs and make them into different shapes it works great too.

These are very tasty and very easy to make. In 45 minutes I made and baked all of the cookies. Thank you so much, travelfanatic, for sharing this recipe with us!! I will be making these again for sure. UPDATE: These are still chewy the next day!! Again, thanks travelfanatic!!!

  1. Mix all the dry ingredients together: baking soda, cinnamon, cloves, ginger and salt.
  2. Blend together the sugar, shortening, egg and molasses and pour into dry ingredients, mix well and form into balls. Press down to 1/2 inches, sprinkle sugar on top. Bake at 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes until starts to crack on top.
