Directions

  1. Cream shortening and sugar.
  2. Add eggs and vanilla.
  3. Add dry ingredients, then nuts,and currants.
  4. Roll into two rolls in waxed paper.
  5. Chill Slice 1/4 " thick.
  6. Place on ungreased cookie sheets.
  7. Bake at 350 for about 10 minutes.
  8. Let cool a minute on the sheet.
  9. I let them brown a bit as I like crisp cookies.

I was looking for an oatmeal cookie recipe with no raisins or chocolate chips and found this! I realized a little too late that I was out of waxed paper so I chilled the dough for about an hour and then rolled and flattened the cookies. They are absolutely delicious! Thank you so much for sharing this recipe!

I was just going to add this recipe to the zaar. My mom's friend bought over these cookis when I was a little girl.I don't add nuts or currants.Put ice cream between two cookies. Mmmmm.Cat's cookin'
