From an old CD cookbook. These cookies keep up to a year (???) in an airtight container. At least, that's what the recipe says.

Ingredients Nutrition

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Cream butter and sugar together. Beat in eggs, vanilla and wine. Stir in flour, one cup at a time. Dough will be stiff. Roll out dough, on well-floured pastry sheet, to a 1/4 inch thickness. Cut into desired shapes with cookie cutter. Bake on greased cookie sheet for 10 minutes.
  2. Make icing by combining above ingredients. (Should be an almost runny consistency). Frost cookies. These cookies will keep for up to one year in an airtight container.

I took Um Safia's idea & substituted a non-alcoholic wine for the wine listed & made some very tasty cookies! Baked mine for about 8 1/2 minutes & they were right-on soft & nice! Thanks for sharing your recipe! [Made & reviewed while in Germany on the great World Tour 4]

Made & reviewed for ZWT 4 ~ Kumquat's Kookin' Kaboodles! I decided to make these cookies for the Bier ist nahrung challenge & am so glad I did! They are such an interesting cookie, I cooked one batch longer than the other & prefer the softer ones but the others are still good. I subbed an alchohol free wine for the sweet wine. Good with or without the icing!
