German-Style Short Ribs

  • 1360.77 g beef short ribs
  • 29.58 ml oil
  • 297.66 g French onion soup
  • 236.59 ml water
  • 14.79 ml lemon juice
  • 1.23 ml ground cloves
  • 1.23 ml pepper
  • 2-3 slice pumpernickel bread, crumbled
  • cooked egg noodles


  1. In a large soup pot over medium heat, brown ribs in oil for 6 to 8 minutes; drain. Add soup, water, lemon juice and seasonings; bring to a boil. Cover and reduce heat to low. Simmer for 1-1/2 to 2 hours, stirring occasionally. Stir in bread and serve over noodles.
