I halved this recipe, but only used 1 Tbl. brown sugar, and 1 Tbl. balsamic vinegar and the amounts were perfect for us! SOOOOO very good!!! Oh, I also cooked a shallot in 1 1/2 Tbl. butter and added that, too. DELICIOUS!!! Thanks so much!! Made for the ZWT4 :)

I really liked this. My kid really liked this. It doesn't taste canned by the time that it's done cooking. I can see using this often. Thanks.

Really nice flavor. The kids did not enjoy it as much as the adults but overall it is a great recipe to use. I skipped on the bacon drippings but the flavor of just the cubed bacon was perfect. I used frozen whole beans in place of the canned as a personal preference. Easy as can be! Really went well with meatloaf and potatoes that I served beside this dish. Made for ZWT6 event.

These were good and easy to make but I did cut back a lot on both the brown sugar and vinegar. Good side dish.

These were good, but I think they would be so much better with fresh beans. I decreased the vinegar a tad and used just one teaspoon of brown sugar so it wouldn't be too sweet.

I followed this recipe to the letter and the beans were wonderful with full flavor. Next time I will try with steamed fresh green beans. Thanks lazyme
