"None of my family likes candied fruit...what is that "green stuff" anyhow? My mother found this recipe about 50 years ago and we all love it."

  • Cream together: butter, sugar and eggs.
  • Sift together: flour and spices.
  • Add baking soda to buttermilk.
  • Add flour mixture to egg mixture a little at a time, alternating with buttermilk until well mixed.
  • Fold in preserves and chopped nuts.
  • Mix in vanilla extract.
  • Bake in a greased and floured bundt pan at 325 degrees for 1 1/2 hours.
  • Cool for 15 minutes before removing from pan.
