  • Slice cabbage in large stripes.
  • Put bacon grease in large skillet.
  • Place cabbage and remaining ingredients in skillet.
  • Cover and cook until cabbage is tender, about 1 hour.

  1. Just made this for dinner-DELISH! Quick, easy and affordable too. I carmelized two onions first, then I added it to the cabbage mixture. I left out the caraway, personal preference, but followed the recipe after that. This is a keeper! Thanks debbie.

I am a 55 year old female. Born and raised in the south. I am married and have three grown children and one granddaughter and my best friend Chewy,a toy yorkie. I love Carolina basketball. camping and reading. I have been cooking since I was able to reach the counter, cooking my first meal at the age of 10.
