Well worth the effort! Came out light and fluffy, so much better than I was expecting. Incredibly rich with the frosting, but so so good. I only had enough batter for two 9" pans, rather than three. Not sure why that was. It ended up being a rather small cake, but perfect for our little birthday party. Thanks for posting!

Oh MY Goodness! This recipe makes the perfect Greman Chocolate cake imaginable. While shopping I found a chocolate specifically for this cake at Meijers in with all the baking chocolate. I would not suggest anyone use margarine in this recipe. The real butter helps make this cake so rich and wonderful. I used regular coconut. This is certainly a cake you will receive raves about from family and freinds. Thanks for sharing!!!

LOVED IT! German Chocolate is my stepdads favorite, and I made this today as a thank you to him. He loved it. I only had semi-sweet on hand but it turned out moist and fabulous just the same! I just wish that there would have been about a 1/2 cup more frosting. I did the three layers and needed a bit more between each one and some more for the sides. Beautiful! I am going to make this again soon!

I only made the coconut pecan frosting. It came out fabulous and was a perfect consistency. It was gone super fast.

I made this for a potluck my hubby's work was having. It was a BIG hit and was completely gone by the end of the day. I was surprised it wasn't more chocolate-y, but I think that must be the way german chocolate cake is. Thanks so much for sharing!! :O)

I found the directions to be crystal clear and we thought the end result was delicious! The frosting is to die for good and I can't wait to try it on some other cakes that I make. Great Cake Kozmic!
