Make it homemade, it's so much better than the can. This is a yummy frosting to top a German chocolate cake or plain chocolate cake. It is a traditional recipe with coconut and walnuts.

Directions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine the half and half, butter, sugar, yolks and cornstarch.
  2. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
  3. Remove from the heat and stir in the coconut and walnuts.
  4. Cool to room temperature before frosting cake.
