Another one of my grandmothers recipes. Never made it. I just haven't seen a recipe for this on this site and thought someone might be looking for one.

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Grease and lightly flour 8X1 1/2 inch round baking pan.
  3. Heat chocolate and 1/3 cup water til chocolate melts; cool.
  4. Beat butter about 30 seconds.
  5. Add sugar and vanilla; beat til fluffy.
  6. Add egg yolks one at a time beating one min after each.
  7. Beat in chocolate mixture.
  8. Add dry ingredients and buttermilk.
  9. Fold in egg whites.
  10. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes.
  11. Cool 10 minutes.
  12. Frost.
