I love this recipe. It's so easy and they are a hit with all of my friends. I have made these several times and they never fail. You can even use other flavors of cake mix. I highly recommend this recipe.

This is an outstanding brownie bar!! It's very easy to make (melting the caramels in the double boiler seemed to take the longest time). I didn't add nuts. Did everything else the same. To mix the brownie part I put a ziplock bag over my hand and started kneeding to keep my hands clean, and this seemed to work really well. Worked well for pressing it into the pan, also. I ended up putting about 3/4 of the mix in the pan to cover the whole bottom, then crumbled the remaining like the directions say. This recipe is a keeper!!

OMG, these are out of this world!!! :) My husband and I had made these for our wine group's German night and they were a big hit! After being at the party for 30 minutes, half of the pan was gone! Instead of melting the caramels and the evaporated milk together, we used Hershey's Classic Caramel topping (about 1/3 of the jar) and added 4 oz. melted Bakers' German Chocolate bar to the mixture before baking. This recipe is definitely going into my personal cookbook at home! Thanks Caryn!! :)
