My wife and I like greens, so we are always looking for new recipes for them, and this one worked very well. It is easy to make, and if you like garlic, you will enjoy this dish.
This is a delicious dish! I halve the recipe and used napa cabbage, spinach, and swiss chard(what I happened to have on hand). I used the full amount of sherry and seasonings. I did add 1/2 cup water to the greens and let them cook about 8-10 more minutes. Absolutely wonderful! Thanks Bergy!!!
Quite wonderful, even though I thought the parmesan cheese overpowered the other flavours. I used spinach, and cinnamon instead of allspice, which I didn't have. I also omitted the sherry and used garlic powder. I'd love to try this with cabbage next. Thanks for posting, Bergy!
Very good to use surplus greens indeed. However the garlicky taste got lost through cooking. I was expecting a much more pungent taste with 6 cloves !. Goes nicely with rice as a vegetarian meal.
Yum Yum! Simple, fast, and healthy. I made a few subtitutions to save myself a trip to the grocery store. I was out of onion, so I used a chopped pepper - which I think adds a little something to this dish. Also, I drained a can of kidney beans and threw them in the mix. The spice blend is perfect. Seems like a great recipe for purging your frig of leftover fresh veggies. I know that's what I'll be using it for!
Bergy, I just discovered this year that I really like greens! And this recipe is really a winner. The only thing I did different is that I left out the herbs and cheese. I'm not sure what kind of greens I had; they were delivered in a weekly local farm market box. I'll be using this recipe quite a lot! I feel healthier already!......Janet
