One summer I had a bumper crop of green beans so I had to think how to make them interesting every night because everyone was getting sick of them. This recipe was very popular. I serve it whenever I want to fancy up a meal and it's always a hit with those who love garlic.

  1. Cook green beans in boiling water until crisp-tender.
  2. Drain and set aside.
  3. Melt butter in frying pan, over medium heat.
  4. Add garlic and cook for a few seconds (do not let it brown).
  5. Stir in bread crumbs, mixing well.
  6. Add drained green beans to frying pan.
  7. Toss to coat beans well with bread crumb mixture and heat through.
  8. Serve and enjoy.

This is an awesome recipe and soooo delicious! Definitely, a keeper and will be enjoyed often. Fresh green beans are a must - canned or frozen don't compare. Thanks very much for posting it.

I used homecanned green beans(I still have about 80 quarts!) I forgot to add the bread crumbs but even without them this recipe is a winner!!!

YUMMY! I don't know if it's the butter or the garlic (probably both) but this was delicious! I accidentally put in too much bread crumbs but it still came out fantastic. I used canned beans (all I had) and just heated up till hot then threw them in the pan with the butter/garlic!
