    1. 1
Place the frozen green beans, water, thyme, and salt in a large nonstick skillet.
    2. 2
Cover and cook over medium-heat, stirring occasionally, for about 7 minutes, until the green beans are completely thawed.
    3. 3
Reduce the heat to medium and cook for several minutes more, just until tender.
    4. 4
Add a little more water during cooking if needed, but only enough to prevent scorching.
    5. 5
      Drain off any excess liquid.
    6. 6
Push the beans to one side of the skillet and add the olive oil and garlic to the empty side of the skillet.
    7. 7
Increase the heat to medium-high and cook for about 10 seconds, until the garlic smells fragrant and is just beginning to turn color.
    8. 8
Toss the beans with the garlic mixture and serve hot.

These were very tasty. I used a can of green beans instead and omitted the olive oil. Very tasty although the garlic was a wee bit strong for my son. Thanks for posting!

These were SO good and really easy to make as well. I made them exactly as directed and my 79 year old Dad declared these better than his Mom's which is a glowing recommendation. We will have these on a regular basis for sure!

A healthy version of the garlic green beans from my favorite Chinese restaurant. I did add extra garlic. Served with pork tenderloin.
