I don't like sweet potatoes because they always have brown sugar in them. But here a great tasting recipe without the sugar! It comes from the cookbook "Great Garlic Recipes".

OH, WOW!!! This is the best ever way to eat sweet potatoes. I hate ruining the flavor and healthiness of sweet potatoes by adding all that sweet, sugary stuff. This is sweet potato and garlic Heaven!! I made this last night to go with baked pork chops. This is a great side dish for ANY meal (and also a good snack (as evidenced by not one bite remaining;) Hey when the midnight munchies attack, this makes a better snack than potato chips or nachos anyday!!!   1. In a large pan boil sweet potatoes until tender, drain.
  2. Meanwhile in the same pan add butter and saute garlic until lightly browned.
  3. Return potatoes to pan and mash until smooth and creamy.
  4. Add pepper (and salt if you want) and serve immediately.
