OH, WOW!!! This is the best ever way to eat sweet potatoes. I hate ruining the flavor and healthiness of sweet potatoes by adding all that sweet, sugary stuff. This is sweet potato and garlic Heaven!! I made this last night to go with baked pork chops. This is a great side dish for ANY meal (and also a good snack (as evidenced by not one bite remaining;) Hey when the midnight munchies attack, this makes a better snack than potato chips or nachos anyday!!! Will definitely be making again!!! Thank you Charlotte!! ~Manda

Yummy. I added some coconut milk to mash them with just because I had a teeny bit left in the fridge- made them yummy and rich! I improvised with this because I only had one sweet potato on hand, and besides, I'm the only one here! Surprisingly delicious unusual combination - I wish that I had added even more garlic!

It was very good! I added some nonfat milk and a little light sour cream to make it creamier, then I used an immersion blender to make it smooth. We might have used a little too much garlic--maybe next time I'll use a little less (we love garlic so probably used a little more than called for!). It tasted fresh and healthy!

This was a really great vegetarian side dish! I found the sweet potatoes nice and creamy once I added the butter, and I did use less than a teaspoon of salt, since I find that pepper alone seemed a little out of place. I'll never know if it makes for good leftovers, as it finished quickly.

I'm so sorry. I made this for Thanksgiving to try something different. I love sweet potatos and I love garlic but the two together just didn't do it for me. I ended up throwing them away which is something I never do! 3 cloves of garlic was way too much. I tried sweetening them with brown sugar and that made it worse. Oh well, was fun to try something different. I do like to slice sweetpotatoes and brush them with olive oil, garlic salt, pepper, and bake them covered with foil and broil the last few minutes. Those are yummy.

This was really good and easy to make. The garlic flavor was very subtle, but in combination with the butter was delicious. Thank you for something to do with the lowly sweet potato besides fries and the sweet casserole.

Very good. I used a tbsp. herb and garlic cream cheese in this to make it a little moister. Great side dish with meatloaf.

I served these with Salmon that I bake in foil with tomatoes. Everyone loved them, except they were a bit dry at first. I used margarine instead of butter, maybe that was why. Anyway, I added a bit more margarine and some 1% milk. Great alternative to just baking them and serving like traditional baked russet potatoes, and also to mashed white potatoes which my husband is not allowed to eat. Will definitely make this recipe again. Thanks for posting. I would never have thought to pair sweet potatoes with garlic.

-Same here. I hate sugared up sweet potatoes. I received some from my aunt and was trying to find a way to cook them that I would like, so I tried this recipe. They turned out great and I used the whole bag. I didn't think I would use any of them. Thanks.

I couldn't agree more CHarlotte. HATE sweet potatoes all sugared up, but LOVE them savory. I made these for dinner along with breaded pork chops and it was fantastic! I followed the directions exactly except that I used seasoned salt instead of regular. I will make this often.
