Don't serve this with dinner because you won't want to eat anything else except more bread. It's like eating garlic bread topped with a melted creamy, cheese and onion dip. Sensational, the topping gets all brown and bubbly and the bread - brown and crunchy. I used some leftover sour cream instead of the half and half and baked it because my broiler is worthless. This bread was delicious! I served it with baked Italian chicken, green beans and a package of chicken flavored noodles. I used a little milk instead of the half-and-half because I didn't have any on hand. I use 3 cloves of garlic and 1 T. dried parsley instead of fresh, but it was still delicious! Fresh basil might have been a nice addition, I will try it next time, but it was delicious as is! It was quick and easy to prepare. I put it under the broiler for about 5 minutes and watched it closely. When the cheese became lightly browned and bubbly, I pulled it out. The bread with hot and still soft, just the way I like it! This bread really made my ordinary dinner special! The kids even loved the bread, so this recipe is a keeper in my book! Thanks!!!
Well, I know that someone else tagged this in our game, but I had to try it too. I really liked it. Next time though, I may try to add a little bit more garlic because I love garlic so much. Nice recipe and a nice change of pace from the typical garlic bread.
I was skeptical of this recipe because of all the mayonnaise. It is so good I could eat the whole loaf myself. I did use reduced-fat mayo and milk instead of half and half. Good recipe!!!
I'm so happy I tried this recipe out cause it turned out amazing! Easy to prepare too. This will go wonderfully with our monthly family spaghetti dinners. Oh I did change a little, I used 4 gigantic cloves of garlic,so more like 5-6 cloves, 1 Tbsp. dried parsley, and used 1 Tbsp. dried onion flakes because I did not want to ruin my eye make up cutting an onion lol. This stuff is DELICIOUS! Definitely not for the diet-conscious, but oh so good! I didn't have any garlic or onion so subbed garlic powder and onion powder and it was still wonderful. I could eat this every day (but I better not!). Will definitely be making again!
REALLY good stuff! We had a friend over who loves garlic bread so I was unsure about this combination. Needn't have been - she and my BH scarfed the lot. The piece I did manage to comandeer was great. She left with the recipe. I'm planning on having this with soup for dinner in future. Thanks for a great recipe
OH MY! This is heavenly! It's a meal in itself if you can't seem to eat anything else at the table except this bread! The places where the mixture was a little thick...was just a bit too much but otherwise...perfect and that is my error not the recipe's. Not for those on a diet that is for sure but this is one of those things that is SO worth it!
