This is almost exactly how I make mine, except I add a TBSP or two of Mayo in the mix. This is the secret some of the restaurants use in their cheesy garlic bread. Give it a try!

I used your cheese mix as a general base for cheese bread several times (I only make about 5-6 individual slices at a time), and it has become a hit at my house. I swap out the butter for olive oil, but that is my only variation. I will be keeping this!

I really like this! I made it with spaghetti tonight and the hubby and I really enjoyed it. I didn't have cheddar and used taco cheese instead, which worked out well, I also added some garlic powder to the mix. Yum!
I decided at the last min. to make this to go with Shrimp and Corn Soup--Crock Pot and am so glad I did. Now, I only let my mixture rest for 4 min. but it tasted perfect. I used 2 cloves of garlic and it was plenty garlicky for us (I don't like it overly strong). The chunkiness of the mixture bakes up to an even layer of cheesy goodness! Delicious! I used italian herbs in place of the individual ones and this is probably the best garlic bread I've ever made. I served this with my TVP Taco Soup. What a yummy supper. Thanks Cathy for posting this wonderful tasting, easy to make recipe. Mine turned out to look just like your picture.
