Quinoa is something that I always make for one since my husband has ZERO interest in it. Consequently, I'm always making it in addition to whatever side dish the rest of the family is having. So for me, quinoa needs to be super simple and tasty. Here is how I do it most often.

Ingredients Nutrition

  • 14 cup quinoa
  • 12 cup water
  • 1 -2 tablespoon leek, finely diced
  • 14 teaspoon garlic salt

Directions

  1. Combine all ingredients in a saucepan and bring to a boil.
  2. Reduce heat and simmer, covered, until quinoa is translucent and the water is absorbed, about 10-15 minutes.
  3. Stir and serve.

Very good! Makes a nice flavor change from the basic quinoa, but just as easy to make.

DH really enjoyed this for his snack at work. He likes Quinoa, I don't so this is really his rating. He did add more salt but he always does that. Overall a good flavor. Thanks for posting. Made for PAC spring 08'
