Super duper delicious and oh so easy. This recipe came from the Bread Machine Collection. I made these for a family dinner dessert and a 2nd batch for a savory roll for dinner. Very versatile and so light, it feels like eating a cloud. There are 3 posted toppings, but I have made other variations as well.

  1. Place room temperature ingredients in bread machine according to your manufacturer's manual.
  2. Select dough cycle (I do this 2 times for fluffier rolls).
  3. Remove dough to lightly floured surface and roll into 20-inch long roll.
  4. Divide dough into 16-20 pieces and roll into balls.
  5. Dip each ball in melted butter or margarine.
  6. Roll in selected topping. (see below).
  7. Place in casserole dish.
  8. Let rise additional 30 minutes or double in size.
  9. Bake at 350° for 30-35 minutes.
  10. Remove and cool 10 minutes.
  11. Tip out of pan onto pretty serving platter and watch everyone enjoy.
  12. Cooking time includes ABM dough cycle, rising time, and oven time.
  13. For toppings: Blend dry ingredients together in a bowl for rolling dough after dipped in melted butter.

My family enjoyed these. My mom made these for special occasions when I was growing up, and I got in the mood to have them the other day. I decided to try this recipe rather than use my mom's version because she uses all cans of refrigerated biscuit dough for the rolls, and I wanted to try a from-scratch version instead. I followed the recipe exactly except I made sure to spray my casserole dish with some Pam before putting in the rolls to help get them out onto the serving tray easier. The rolls were pretty fluffy and the sticky caramel sauce made them a good treat for us. Next time, I will follow the posted suggestion of doubling the ingredients for the sticky caramel sauce to make them more gooey (there was coverage with the original recipe, but we would have definitely enjoyed more sauce). I also plan on dividing the dough into more pieces so that I end up with smaller rolls to pull apart next time. One suggestion I have based on the way I've had it in the past is that my mom always baked the rolls in a Bundt pan so that when you tip it out onto the serving tray it has a fancier presentation for special occasions. I realized these were for the ABM too late, and since I don't own one, I decided to attempt to do these by hand. They did require plenty of kneading, but they came out great. I made the Sticky Caramel. Thank you for posting, I will make these again! Made for Bevy Tag.

We really liked this recipe. I had monkey bread before and this is a nice twist to this recipe. I made hald italian gusto and half sticky caramel. I will make thsi again! Thanks for posting!
