i would give more stars if i could-really! this was easy to make and turned out so fruity and sweet. i used extra strawberry kool aid, less water and added a bit more honey and i piped it into the little cups with a pastry bag. i gave it to all the moms in my MOPS group for valentine's day in a gift bag with cinnamon bark and they loved it. i got a lot of requests for the recipe. this would be perfect to make at a little girl's birthday party for all the girls to take home. thanks for a fun and easy recipe

After seeing all the 5 star reviews for this recipe, we were very disappointed with the results we got from this recipe. First, there is no way only 1/4 tsp water will "dissolve" an entire packet of KoolAid. Second, 1 tsp honey wasn't nearly enough to sweeten up the very sour taste. This recipe just plain doesn't work as written...at least not for us it didn't.

I have not tried this, but I do want to let everyone know that if you want to make homemade lip gloss, use this recipe... Many recipes like this use patroleum jelly, which is toxic for your lips, and skin.

I made this with my young nieces for Christmas presents for their friends. Everyone wants to give a little something to friends without spending a mint. I bought little pots at the craft store and stick-on Christmas labels for the girls to decorate. We used Watermelon Kiwi Kool-Aid and called ourselves the Glossy Posse. This recipe helped make one of the best Christmas presents I could ever give myself - a fun and easy craft day with my adorable nieces.

This was WONDERFUL!!! My daughter used this for an assignment in Speech Class. She had to make it in front of the class. She got an "A". We made a test run the night before, and we loved it. This is really a keeper!

This WAS fun to make. We used black cherry Kool-Aid and to get the water hot we heated a small bowl of water in the microwave for about 35 seconds and just took the 1/4 teaspoon of water from there. Can't wait to experiment with the the other "flavors". Thanks !

This lip gloss was so fun to make! Today was a dreary rainy day so I didn't feel like going out. Then, I noticed that I was out of lip gloss, so I looked up some recipes for some on recipe zaar and found this one! And Oh boy, am I glad I did! it worked and looked perfect! It made my lips soft, and i couldnt help not licking my lips!!! c[= It also gives your lips some color. I used the Cherry Kool-Aid and that worked great! The color was cool too!! =]] it's great to have lip gloss that makes your lips kissable, but isn't it greater that you can say that you made the lip gloss yourself?!? I am deffiantely going to be making a lot of these for stocking-stuffers for Christmas! THANKS! =]

My daughters needed a fun take-along for a Christmas party of all preteen girls, so we made this and Chocolate Lip Balm #69998. It was so simple, but fun and different and a big hit with all the girls (and their moms were all so impressed with me ;o). I found a package of inexpensive little plastic paint pots at the craft store that each held about 1-1/2 tsp and had airtight lids; as written, this recipe filled 2 pots with a bit left over, but it multiplies easily. We did have to put the mixture in the microwave for about 5-8 seconds and stir well, to get the KoolAid to dissolve fully so the gloss didn't feel gritty. It took a few turns through the micro...but we also learned not to do 15 sec at once because all the shortening melted and the mixture separated and didn't set up right in the fridge (feel free to learn from my errors, lol!). It was also easier to spoon into the little cups when it was a bit warmer. We used strawberry flavor and it turned out a much deeper color than I'd expected, very Christmas-y; I think next time we may add the extra honey as the others suggested. Thanks!

This worked perfectly. I liked it mainly because its all the ingredients I usually have on hand. I go through quite a bit of this stuff. Lip gloss can be expensive and this is so much better and cheaper. Thanks!!!

WOW! Anyone wants a kiss from Char?! LOL!!! What fun this lip gloss can be especially on a fun day like Easter. I made it today as soon as my gift pkg. arrived from Chef Robin West that had in it Kool aid. I used the Tropical Punch flavour to make this. What a lovely rich deep red colour I got for this gloss. The gloss is so fruity and tasty and so beautiful in appearance! I did use a bit more honey(followed Chef Errin's suggestion) which worked beautifully. What an easy recipe, gets ready in a jiffy and oh, it looks gorgeous! I'm going to give away lots of this to little kids today for Easter. Thank you so much for sharing such a marvellous recipe. Left me licking my lips clean and brought out a sweet smile on a sweet cute face!;)
