- 453.59 g lean ground beef
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 medium green pepper, chopped
- 414.03 ml water
- 2 (453.59 g) can tomato sauce
- 453.59 g can kidney beans, rinsed and drained
- 439.41 g can great northern beans, rinsed and drained
- 425.24 g can garbanzo beans, rinsed and drained
- 425.24 g can black beans, rinsed and drained
- 14.79 ml baking cocoa
- 9.85 ml louisiana style hot sauce
- 2.46 ml black pepper
- 2.46 ml chili powder
- 1.23 ml garlic powder
- 0.61 ml cayenne pepper
- 118.29 ml sour cream, garnish
- 118.29 ml crushed tortilla chips, garnish
- 118.29 ml shredded cheddar cheese, garnish
directions
- In a dutch oven over medium heat, cook the beef, onion and green pepper until meat is no longer pink; drain.
- Stir in the water, tomato sauce, beans, cocoa, hot sauce and seasonings. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 30 minutes.
- To serve immediately, garnish each serving with 1 Tablespoon each of sour cream, crushed chips and cheese.
- To freeze, cool chili and transfer to freezer containers. Freeze up to 3 months.
