ingredients

  • 1 banana, frozen (peel the banana before you freeze it)
  • 1 cup frozen fruit (any kind- I use berries, mango, or peaches)
  • 2 cups Baby Spinach, fresh
  • 1 cup water
  • 4 -5 ice cubes

directions

  • Cut banana into chunks and put into blender.
  • Add remaining ingredients.
  • Blend on high until smooth.

  1. This smoothie is ok, but I wish I'd used juice instead of water. The spinach flavor was really noticeable. I don't have that issue if I use juice in smoothies. Also, it seemed a bit bland compared to most fruit/spinach smoothies I have made. I will make again, but I would not use water again.
     
  2. Five stars because DD1 (4 years old likes it!) Unlike the other reviewer I couldn't really taste the spinach. I mainly tasted banana which I did not add frozen or it would have been too cold for us. I used good quality frozen mangos to be properly food combined as per http://detoxifynow.com/Images/foodcombining%20(Small).jpg adding a couple more chunks or the mango instead of ice cubes. I don't feel this needs juice used in place of water at all.
