  1. Great fruit salad and very easy to make. I tossed apple and banana with a bit of fresh lemon to keep them from browning so I could make it a couple of hours in advance. This is really more like 10-15 servings though. Make sure you start with a large bowl--those mini marshmallows take up some space!

  2. Thank you Carol. My mother made this salad every year on thanksgiving (minus the coconut) but I couldn't remember exactly what was in it or how to put it together. Came across your recipe, and it brought back a flood of memories. Thanks again. It's delicious

  5. This is a tradition in my family, too! My variation includes using fresh oranges instead of mandarin oranges and I do not add cherries or coconut. Thank you for bringing back wonderful memories and a great recipe!!!

Hi there. :) What a great site! I am 36 and have been married 15 years. I'm a stay at home mom with two busy children who are like night and day. One eats everything and the other is extremely picky. Just about everything I've learned about cooking and baking has been tought to me by my sister Gayle who is a fantastic cook. :) I have a couple favorite cookbooks I use, the "Joy of Cooking" and Betty Crocker's "New Cookbook-Everything you need to know to cook." They've both been very helpful.
