      this recipe was one of the few i could find for cherry cobbler & i was very impressed with it!it requires few ingredients,short prep time & it is delicious!

      I've used this recipe for years. It was the Saturday night special when I was growing up and we had ripe fruit to be used, or that fresh picked batch that we couldn't wait to try. I had some fresh peaches that I needed to use along with some blueberries and used this recipe. I modified it by using whole wheat pastry flour and Splenda for the topping. Oh and I use approx. 1 tsp cinnamon, just because my grandma always did and I love it. I find that whole wheat pastry flour tends to be just a little grainier than all purpose, so I cut in 1 stick of butter, and melted 1/2 stick and poured over the batch before putting in the oven. I used 9 peaches (approx. 2-3 inch each; very soft ripe) and about 1 cup of blueberries. Hubby and I both practically made a meal from this dish and didn't feel the least bit guilty because we used no white flour or sugar! Thanks so much for reminding me of an old favorite! :)

      We loved this but made some changes. Used fresh peaches, half the amount of sugar called for, and ran out of margarine so I cut in cooking oil a little at a time to get the crumbly texture. Soooo easy and very, very good!
