A tasty treat on a hot summer day! Make sure your blender can handle this recipe -- it can be made in 2 batches if needed.
- In a blender or smoothie machine, process the lemon juice and sugar for approximately 30 seconds to blend well. Add 2 cups of water and half the ice and blend, crushing the ice. Add the remaining ice and water. Blend on high speed until the mixture resembles a frozen delight!
- Divide among 6 glasses and top each glass with a cherry.
I left out the water and used 3 cups of crushed ice -- YUMMY!
We thought this was a little sweet or watered down, but that could just have been our taste buds that day. It didn't have the tartness we were hoping for on the hot day we had. Next time, we'll cut down a little on the sugar and may not add as much water. Hopefully that will bring out more of the lemon flavor we were looking for. Overall, we thought it was pretty good and will make this again; but the sweetness was a little too much for us so we'll adjust the sugar amount. Thanks for sharing this recipe! We appreciate it!
Very Good, a real treat on a warm day. I cut the recipe in half using splenda instead of sugar. My maraschino cherries didn't have stems, but it still looked pretty. Thank you for sharing the recipe, I will be making it often this summer.
