I serve this for quest and on special holidays. It is a nice way to serve orange juice.
- 6 ounces frozen orange juice concentrate, unthawed
- 1 cup water
- 1⁄2 cup sugar
- 8 -10 ice cubes
- 1 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- Combine all ingredients in a blender; add ice cubes.
- Cover and process until drink is thick and slushy.
This is just what I was looking for, thank you! We used to buy a fountain drink called an "Orange Bang" from 7-11 (I think). I wanted my kids to taste it and now they have. I didn't feel the need to add sugar - maybe for holidays. And we used heavy whipping cream instead of milk, although I'm sure the milk would be fine, too. It also reminds us a little of an "orange flurry" from Sonic.
This has become a favorite at our Youth Church gatherings. It's simple to prepare, and separation can be cured by a vigorus shake if you aren't able to serve from blender to cup. Don't try to prepare too far ahead of time and you'll have a winner!
Good flavor and sweet, but separates quickly so that you end up with watery juice on the bottom.
