This is a great recipe for frosting! I did lose track of how much cream I was adding because I kept pouring in more to mix it to a creamy consistency(so be sure you have plenty of cream). I divided my frosting up into different bowls after I finished mixing and added the food coloring then. Had a good time decorating cookies with this, thanks for the recipe!

Great recipe! I love that you can make just what you need. I found that using a 1/2 teaspoon worked really well to spread the frosting on the cookies. I used half-and-half and added the food coloring at the end. Fantastic looking and shinny. Thanks!

Okay, Deb. You must know how pretty these cookies turned out after adding your fabulous icing recipe. I loved it, my girls loved it, and we had quite the sugar-fest in the kitchen this weekend. Absolutely fantastic!

This was just the frosting for sugar cookies, exactly what I was hoping for. I had a tube of refrig. cookie dough (my first time using)leftover. I used fat free half and half and it worked great. I liked the broken down amounts of ingredients. I just stopped when I had enough (2 tbs. butter and 2 cups sugar). The frosting gave the cookies a nice homemade flavor. Thanks Deb, for another terrific recipe. Roxygirl

This frosting was amazing! I was so impressed with the "glazed" and smooth look to it. I also like how the sprinkles stuck right to the frosting adnd they kind of sink in so they don't fall off. Love it!

My Amish sugar cookies needed some icing on them, so I decided to try this recipe out, and was glad that I did. Since I only needed to make enough for 20 cookies, I sort of winged it. I started out with 1 tbsp of butter, and added the milk and icing sugar little by little till I get the texture I wanted. So easy and practical, and worked well, too. Thank you for posting.
