I found this recipe somewhere else but this one is exactly the same, minus the instructions on giving as gift. We cook this in a stock pot and it is my absolute favorite soup (this coming from a girl that use to ONLY eat chicken noodles soup that contained nothing but chicken and noodles!) LOVE this soup and it's healthiness!
This mix makes a great homemade gift and looks so nice with the different layers in the jar. I have given it to many of my children's teachers and neighbors, etc. over the years. Thanks for posting!
This 1999 Taste of Home cookbook recipe is terrific to layer in jars and give (with instructions) as gifts to new neighbors or sell at church fundraisers, etc...The yield is actually 16 (one cup) servings or 4 quarts per batch when cooked...The diabetic exchanges are 1½ starch, 1 meat...
