Been making this every year since 2008 when I found this recipe! Still good as ever... I added photo today. I still add celery seed or salt to the kraut while cooking and this year added some onion powder! .... Made this for New Years Day! We loved it! I added alittle sprinkle of celery salt while in the frying pan. The bacon really made the dish! I bet it would be yummy to add some chopped onions and a few bannana peppers!

This is like fried cabbage with (in my case vegetarian) hot dogs on it. Which I like. :) Doesn't get any easier and we enjoyed it for dinner.

Thanks so much for this recipe. My father used to make me fried sauerkraut and I've tried it many times myself but never had the right balance of margarine and sauerkraut! I've never tried it with bacon but I'm sure that only makes it better!

I omitted the bacon as I was serving this with brats. I did add sauted onions though. Very, very good. Thanks for sharing.
