    Yes, you can eat common daylily flowers! They are delicious. We eat them raw too! Enjoy! You may serve with sauce of your choice.

    Ingredients:

    Yield:

    needles

    Units: US | Metric

    • 12 daylily flowers
    • 1 egg, beaten with water below
    • 1 teaspoon water
    • 1 cup flour
    • vegetable oil

    Directions:

    1. 1
      Dip each flower in the beaten egg.
    2. 2
      Roll it in flour.
    3. 3
      Saute the coated flowers in hot oil until crispy.

      Enjoy!

      This recipe works just as well with frozen daylilies as with fresh.

      A real treat to have in midwinter.

      Ok! Ok! I admit it - it broke my heart take these beautiful, fragarent flowers and make a in a recipe rather than to enjoy them in a vase for a week. Although it did take some getting used to, I have to give this 4 stars because it is a good. It's just one of those "unusual" foods that you're aren't used to. Just keep tasting - you will enjoy.
