  • 12 daylily flowers
  • 1 egg, beaten with water below
  • 1 teaspoon water
  • 1 cup flour
  • vegetable oil

Directions

  1. Dip each flower in the beaten egg.
  2. Roll it in flour.
  3. Saute the coated flowers in hot oil until crispy.
  4. Enjoy!
  5. This recipe works just as well with frozen daylilies as with fresh.
  6. A real treat to have in midwinter.

Ok! Ok! I admit it - it broke my heart take these beautiful, fragarent flowers and make a in a recipe rather than to enjoy them in a vase for a week. Although it did take some getting used to, I have to give this 4 stars because it is a good. It's just one of those "unusual" foods that you're aren't used to. Just keep tasting - you will enjoy.
