Thank you! This is exactly the recipe I was looking for to make my Honey's Aunt Leedy's corn. It's just like hers that was lost & we thoroughly enjoyed it & will pass it along in her memory.
What a yummy combo. I used more bacon, and less water and bacon grease, since I used Trader Joe's precooked bacon (it doesn't release very much fat when crisped in the pan).
I'm giving this a five because DH just loved it! He wants bacon with his corn now all of the time.
Made exactly as directed and wouldn't change a thing!
RIP PapaD. You are greatly missed.
Amazing recipe. Don't change a thing. I can't believe I never thought to combine bacon and corn. Yum, yum, yum. RIP Papa D, you will be greatly missed.
Very easy to make and the bacon gives the corn an extra-special flavor. Made in memory of Papa D.
This recipe was made on 6/18/12 as a part mine and my SO's dinner. I had no choice but to use frozen corn, but other than that the recipe was made as it was written. After cooking the bacon, a bit of chopped onion was cooked in the grease.OMGoodness !!! it was so,so good. :) All I can say is that this will most certainly be made again, but using fresh corn the next time. I made this for Papa D's Cook-A-Thon. " Keep Smiling :) "
Just like grandma's! I used bicolor corn, and it turned out just beautiful. Made for My Three Chefs! Thanks for sharing!
Delicious! Just the way I've always made it, except I normally use white corn, which was not available at Kroger! This yellow corn was naturally VERY sweet, and the bacon sets it over the top! Made for Summer Photo Tag 2012.
