Serve these fried apples with breakfast or as a side dish to pork, or ham with breakfast.
- 8 medium granny smith apples, chopped
- 1⁄4 cup butter
- 1⁄2 cup brown sugar
- 1⁄2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1⁄8 teaspoon nutmeg
- Melt butter in a heavy skillet over medium-low heat. Add apples, brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg. Sauté 15 to 20 minutes, or until apples are tender.
These apples are wonderful!! I used the seasonings stated and followed your directions but had to use a variety of apples (Delicious, Rome, Pink Lady) because we had some odds and ends in the fridge. Delicious with pork roast! This will go in with my family's favorites! Thanks SmHerndon!!
