    Ingredients:

    ICING

    Directions:

      Cream butter, shortening, and sugar until fluffy.
    2. 2
      Add strawberries and gelatin; beat well.

      Sift together dry ingredients and add alternately with milk.
    4. 4
      Add vanilla and beat well.

      Fold in egg whites.

      Turn into 3 greased and floured 9-inch cake pans.

      Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes.

      When cake is cool, blend the confectioner's sugar, softened butter, and strawberries.

      Beat thoroughly and spread between layers.
