The women in my family are addicted to this mandatory holiday dish. It has cranberry tartness combined with the sweetness of grapes and mandarin oranges, all encompassed in the comfort of jello. It comes from the "It's About Thyme" cookbook by Marge Clark, who by her recipes must be a special lady.

Ingredients Nutrition

  1. Cook cranberries in the 4 cups water to a boil.
  2. Add soda and stir and enjoy watching it bubble up.
  3. Simmer 10 minutes.
  4. Stir in sugar, jello, and marshmallows.
  5. Stir until melted.
  6. Let mixture cool.
  7. Add apples, nuts, pineapple, oranges, and grapes.
  8. Pour into one 9" x 13" pan and one 8" x 8" pan.
  9. Chill until firm.

Served for Thanksgiving. My kids thought this was the greatest thing since sliced bread. It's a good thing it makes so much, even though they ate an obscene amount, we still have enough for leftovers. Thanks for sharing the recipe!

This is so yummy! The adults and kids alike just loved this recipe. I left out the nuts and substituted canned diced pears for the apples. If you can find cranberry flavored jello, it makes it just perfect. This will be a tradition in my family from now on!

This was a good salad! I liked that it firmed enough to cut and remove from the pan with a spatula. Looks nice on a plate. I only had one box of strawberry jello, so I used that plus two orange jellos. Turned out great. I will be trying this with other flavors of jello for variety.
