French Toast Casserole

My Mom gave me this recipe because I had some breadsticks that were hard. It tastes like cinnamon toast. This would be a great dish for a brunch or breakfast meeting. Yummy!

I've made this twice so far, but plan to make it regularly! A 9 yr old friend of my DD even asked for the recipe so she could make it at her house! LOL. I followed the instructions exactly the first time and it was delicious. On my second attempt I used some left over whipping cream in place of part of the milk, and it turned out equally rich and yummy! Two thumbs up on this one!

  1. Place bread cubes in a greased 13x9x2" baking dish.
  2. In a mixing bowl, beat eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla and salt.
  3. Pour over bread cubes and refrigerate overnight.
  4. Remove from fridge 30 minutes before baking.
  5. Dot with butter.
  6. Combine sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle over top.
  7. Cover with foil and bake at 350 for 45 minutes.
  8. Let stand 5 minutes.
  9. Serve with syrup.
