  1. in a plate or bowl, mix the egg, milk, 2 pinches of nutmeg and 2 pinches of sugar.
  2. in a frying pan, melt the butter and sprinkle some sugar on top of it.
  3. cut the loaf in peices, and dip them in the mixture until soaked.
  4. fry the pieces of bread until golden brown.

Quick and easy. Very tasty. The sugar and the nutmeg gave it a great flavor. The sugar in the skillet gave the french toast a crisp to it. Almost like an outer shell covering. We very much enjoyed this for breakfast this am. Thanks for posting.
