I got this recipe from an old cookbook so many years ago I have forgotten which one. It is a wonderfully simple and elegant dish I have served many many times to company. Great with a rice dish and broccoli or green beans.

Ingredients Nutrition

Directions

  1. Pound chicken to flatten to about 1/4 inch thick.
  2. Season with salt, pepper and garlic to taste.
  3. Place a slice of ham and a slice of cheese on each.
  4. Roll up as you would a jelly roll and secure with toothpicks or poultry string.
  5. Brown chicken on all sides in oil or butter and place in casserole dish.
  6. Mix white wine and mushroom soup and pour over chicken.
  7. Bake at 350 degrees for 35-45 minutes or until done.

I served this for guests last night and everyone loved it! It was simple to prepare, but looked and tasted like a gourmet dish. A mixed green salad and baby new potatoes alongside made a very nice meal.

Hi Shelly, this turned out extremely well...Very easy to make...I did use cream of chicken soup & added fresh mushrooms...Also,included some sherry in the mix....Thanks for sharing a great recipe. --Marla

This dish is wonderful! Not only is it easy to prepare, but it has a beautiful presentation. I'm not sure which I liked best, the chicken or the sauce! We served it with asparagus and mushrooms... what a meal! Thanks so much for posting your recipe, it is a keeper :)
