Questions & Replies

  1. What if cans of French onion soup is unavailable in your area? It seems to be the new toilet paper. Any idea on a substitution? I got the can of beef consomme. Maybe if I caramelize my own onions and make some stock with Better than Bouillon?

  1. This was so yummy, I used one large can of Progresso French Onion Soup and then made up the rest of the liquid with beef broth made from Better than Bouillon. I baked it for 50 minutes and then topped it with gruyere cheese and baked until melted. SO GOOD.

  2. Great recipe! I used I large(18.5oz?) can of french onion soup with chicken broth instead of consomme and 1/4 cup butter. It was so easy! I love that you do it in the oven.

  3. Liked this a lot. Used brown rice and added a bit more liquid, but it was still great. Thanks!
