Very easy to make and yummy. I have been making this for years and it never lasts long on the table.
- 1 (250 g) can reduced cream
- 0.5 (40 g) packet French onion soup mix
- Pour reduced cream into bowl.
- Add soup mix and mix together.
- Put in fridge for about 2 hours.
- Serve with crackers and chips.
I came across this dip at a party years ago and was surprised that it was just cream and soup mix, because it was so addictive and I couldn't stop eating it! I usually use sour cream instead of reduced cream, as I prefer the taste. It's great with celery or carrot sticks.
I've been using this recipe for at least 30 years. It's always a hit.
I have rated this five stars for simplicity and ingredients that are able to be kept in the cupboard for last minute use. The dip tastes as good as any other french onion dip that I have tried. I added lemon juice to some of the dip and found that it added a nice tang and the dip was not so creamy tasting. Either way is yum and easy! Thanks for the post, Chef Nikkisin.
