  1. Wonderful! I made these this past weekend and they were spectacular! I used homemade Bisquick- (I also got the recipe from this site!) and substituted pickle juice for the water and added about 1 tsp of cayenne pepper. I made the batter the consistency of tempura batter but a little on the thicker side. I also used the thick sliced Vlasic Oval pickles and I got one of the richest , flavorful fried pickles I have ever eaten! KUDOS for this recipe!

  2. Very Tasty! Was super easy to make. There are lots of fried pickle recipes out there. I prefer this particular recipe, because it is so simple. I didn't see any measurement for the amount of water to use, so I added water until the batter was the consistancy of pancake batter. I replaced half the water with pickle juice for added flavor. I also added a few drops of hot sauce tot he batter for a little zest. I used the long sandwich style pickle slices (not the wedges but the flat slices) and it turned out great!!

  3. I didn't want to add stars because I've not used this specific recipe. However, when my friends and I gather for a fondue (the oil kind) we use pickles in the beer batter...sooooo yummy!! I highly recommend trying this if you love pickles!

  4. Everyone was saying ewwwwwwww until they tried them. Thanks for the post these are real good. I used buttermilk instead of milk and made my own Bisquik TY again

  5. I was glad to see that someone also shared my love of these little "tasties!" I would like to add that instead of plain milk you can also use buttermilk. Thanks for adding this to the lot.

Still in West Virginia but we've moved a few miles away, down to the county capitol. It's a compromise: bigger than our last town but smalelr than the "big city" of Cumberland MD, right up the road. Jobs are not that plentiful here so I am fortunate to be able to work at home (I'm a writer). My passion is cooking and feeding people family well....my pet peeve is the family court systems in America......my love is for emergency medicine and the people that make survival in a crisis possible
