- 2 tablespoons shortening
- 2 teaspoons shortening
- 1⁄4 cup sugar
- 1⁄2 egg
- 3⁄4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1⁄4 teaspoon salt
- 3⁄8 teaspoon baking soda
- 1⁄8 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1⁄4 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- 1⁄2 teaspoon cinnamon
directions
- Cream together the shortening, sugar, and egg.
- Combine the flour, salt, baking soda, and nutmeg.
- Add the milk to the creamed mixture and mix with the flour mixture.
- Fill greased muffin cups half-full. Bake at 350°F for 20 minutes.
- Melt 2 tablespoons butter in microwave. Combine the sugar and cinnamon in a bowl. Roll the puffs in the melted butter, then in the cinnamon sugar mixture.
