French Breakfast Puffs

"I have never made this recipe. It sounded so interesting when I saw it. I cut it out of a magazine put it away and never made it. I figure anything thats rolled in butter then cinnamon sugar has got to be awesome."

  • Cream together the shortening, sugar, and egg.
  • Combine the flour, salt, baking soda, and nutmeg.
  • Add the milk to the creamed mixture and mix with the flour mixture.
  • Fill greased muffin cups half-full. Bake at 350°F for 20 minutes.
  • Melt 2 tablespoons butter in microwave. Combine the sugar and cinnamon in a bowl. Roll the puffs in the melted butter, then in the cinnamon sugar mixture.
